morning trains from Raleigh and after work trains from Charlotte.
More Info on new schedule.
Here is the existing schedule
The main (and only) advantage to removing the three stops is saving 12 minutes travel time RGH to CLT. This puts the estimated trip time under 3 hours, which sounds really good.
What’s the downside/cost?
- Less accessible mid sized towns, sorry BNC, HPT, SAL
- More complicated schedule/harder to explain
- No more day trips to SAL for tourism/NC Transportation Museum (School Classes)
- The earliest you can arrive in SAL is 12:25 pm, currently it is 8:52am. How is that going to work with appointments at the VA Hospital?
Keep it simple, keep all the stops. If under 3 hours is the goal, continue to make improvements to the rail corridor.
Continue to improve on the accuracy of arrival time rather than the estimated.

Five fast pennies is better than one slow nickel the same as
2 cents from 50 Salisburians is better than a dollars worth from me.
