It’s all about the clickbait

A headline on the homepage of a bias site:

“Blue state’s electricity bills spike, prompting outrage”

Open the article to read more and the headline changes to:

“Con Edison bills surge in January, prompting outcry from New Yorkers”

Read the article and it’s attributed to the rising prices of commodities plus inflation with a quote at the end saying:

However, this problem isn’t just hitting New Yorkers, according to Steve Moore, an economist, former Trump adviser, and FOX Business contributor.

“Utility bills are climbing at a record pace at many states throughout the country due to the higher costs of heating fuel, oil, gas and coal,” Moore said. “Millions of homeowners are seeing 40% to 50% increases in their bills over last year.”

Really?

So what is it then?

Could the title also have been Red state’s electricity bills spike? Yes, but that would have defeated the underlying purpose of the title which most of the site visitors are blind at seeing since they draw satisfaction from what it says. …yet the rise in electricity cost are probably hurting them all the same.

It’s sad so many are blind to the ways they are being manipulated.
